For lovers of vertical activities, 2 main routes are located near our campsite in Tarn, Les Gorges de l’Aveyron. You can reach them in less than 35 minutes by car.

Roc d’Anglars – departing from our campsite

Located in the immediate vicinity, this via ferrata route in Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val overlooks the Aveyron gorges. The Roc d’Anglars, whose departure is accessible directly from the plateau, offers several variations. It is the ideal spot to discover the discipline or push your limits, accompanied by our guide. This circuit features:

• The mini-pole (AD): perfect for a dynamic introduction, with a large footbridge, a monkey bridge and a zip line.
• The sports route (D+): after a Nepalese bridge, it links two monkey bridges, some slightly overhang and very airy passages before reaching the large footbridge and the final zip line.
• The historical route (PD): more accessible, it alternates downclimbing, a short zip line, under-roof crossings and a narrow ledge before a climb back up to the plateau.

This via ferrata in Tarn-et-Garonne, lasting 4 hours on average, is very complete. It is suitable both for beginners supervised by a guide and for thrill-seekers. Note that this route is inaccessible during the falcon nesting season, from March to June.

Roc del Gorb via ferrata – 35 km away

Although this site is located in Aveyron, on the border of Tarn, we highly recommend it. Suitable for a family outing, this well-equipped route blends rock contact with fun elements. It begins with 20 minutes of vertical ladders on the cliff face. Halfway through, a ledge places you in front of two choices:

• Escape route on the right to shorten the trip,
• Abseil on the left for the more adventurous.

The route climbs up to a promontory with a panoramic view of the Viaur valley, before descending towards a stream crossed several times by bridges. A zip line of about 100 m nicely concludes the route. Everything takes place in a peaceful natural setting where you can enjoy a picnic to regain your strength.

To progress safely, it is imperative to have the complete equipment specific to via ferrata:

• An approved helmet to protect the head from falling rocks or impacts.
• A comfortable harness for long vertical sections.
• A lanyard with an energy absorber and two self-locking carabiners.
• A pulley for the zip lines.
• Reinforced gloves to prevent blisters and chafing.
• Hiking shoes with grip soles.
• Water, a snack and sunscreen.
