In the most picturesque part of its course, the old town of Penne, overlooked by the ruins of its castle, occupies a remarkable site near the campsite in the Tarn.

Its winding alleys have kept the atmosphere of yesteryear. Its castle, once a flagship of military architecture, remained abandoned for 450 years and was recently bought back to be rebuilt using traditional methods.

Since this process is long and costly, the current owners organize festivities and medieval entertainment throughout the season to promote their castle.

A visit to Penne Castle is a journey back in time, an immersion into the daily life of fortified castles.
